He turned 7 months and he’s almost 50lbs. He sounds like a bear when he barks. I thought he was going to be tiny ~ maybe 30lbs, at this point I think he could be a 65lb cattle dog/doberman or pit mix. He’s a friggen handful! A cattle dog is a spaz, a cattle dog in a big boys body? - OH MY GOSH! I love him tough, he’s great. First picture is him at 2.5 months, second pictures is him at Saint Paddy’s day. You are jealous , I know you are. I am jealous of myself.

I want to give him all the hugs.
All of them. Every last hug.

I’ll give a few for you. I’m soo happy. I was so sad when I lost my last dog and tried to find one just like him. That failed. I saw this guy transferred in as a puppy from Arkansas and I just went with it. Totally different from my kick back pit bull, but totally also great. He makes me get up at 6 a.m. or he pisses on my floor. Good kid though.

Yep he looks an active one alright.
Enjoy, both of you.

One big lesson I learned in being a puppy parent (for myself at least), it’s to never get a new dog with the hopes that it will “replace” or “be just like” the one I just said goodbye to.
There’s so many great doggos out there. Good for you for finding one that needed love and taking good care of it!

He’s sooooooo cute! I love the blue merle spots, and the ears, and the contrast between the sides of his face and his muzzle & the line running up from it. So, so handsome.
I’m happy that both of you are having such a good time with each other.

He’s more work than I ever could have imagined from a dog. Honestly - he’s a dog you can’t just let sit back on your couch and walk a couple times a day . I probably wouldn’t have signed up for it if I knew what I had in store, but I’m enjoying it. Little sad t o hear his yippy puppy bark go though.

I love the bulldogs for this reason , they will lounge around with you but also go for a hike or terrorize a beach. Mine died this past week, we don’t know what to do without him.

A friend of mine got a pupping knowing he’d be pretty big - likely about 75 lbs. He has quickly eclipsed 115 and shows no signs of stopping. He maintains full puppy level tail chasing and energy as well and apparently is a total goofball. I’m glad by buddy got him - he’s had a tough couple years.

Oh, yes, I remember all that work for the first year, plus. Finally, at 3 years old my pupper settled down and will relax a lot more. All of the training in the first year paid off with a manageable spaz for year 2 and beyond. Stick with it!

I’m sorry to hear that. They leave such big holes in our lives and hearts when they go.
